Why we read together
As part of our consistent assault on the commonplace, Team Osterbind regularly reads books together. We make a clear and defined effort to grow personally, professionally, and spiritually. Our books carry a wide range of topics such as personal growth, legal information, business in general, marketing, or leadership.
At Osterbind Law, you have to be a leader to work here. Leadership has many definitions but, as John Maxwell says, “leadership is about influence. Nothing else.” We all have the power to influence others toward good and that is why we only work with people who do just that. And we read broadly because, according to Michael Hyatt, “all leaders are readers, but not all readers are leaders.” If you want to be a leader you have to consistently learn new things. Then, you implement them into your everyday life.
We’ve been doing this for about a year and whenever we talk about it, people listen. So many people have wondered what books we are holding in our social media posts. People like to learn. So, instead of just limiting our book selections to our team members, we would love for you to join us.
Are you in?
Ready to read with us?
If you’re ready to join us on our learning journey, then the next steps are simple. I’ll take them in order:
1. Sign up for our Book Club Newsletter
We promise to never send you spammy emails. We hate spam. We will only send you information relevant to this book club.
2. Purchase the book in the monthly book club email
We will send you an email near the end of every month with the next month’s book selection. You should click on the amazon link and purchase the book. Before digging into the book club, an important disclosure: Some, but not all, of the links on this page or in our book club emails are affiliate links, which means that if you choose to make a purchase, we will earn a small commission. This does not cost you anything. Please understand that we have vetted these books and we recommend them because we believe they will help you in some way. Please do not spend any money on these books unless you feel you need them or that they will help you grow as a person.
3. Join our scheduled Zoom meeting.
We will schedule a Zoom meeting so that we can sit down and over some of the lessons learned from the book and discuss how to implement these lessons into our lives. Reading a book does you no good if you ignore the lessons and fail to implement it. We’ll help you with that.
