Madeline Prichard serves as a Closing Specialist at Osterbind Law, PLLC. She ensures that every case concludes with precision, care, and timely resolution. With a strong background in academic research, legal support, and project coordination, Madeline brings a calm, detailed, and proactive approach to finalizing settlements and securing outcomes for clients.
Background and Education
Madeline earned her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Randolph College, graduating with minors in History and Museum Studies. She then completed her Master of Arts in Art History with a concentration in Museum Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her academic journey sharpened her analytical and research skills, which she now applies to the complex and sensitive nature of closing personal injury and disability cases.
Before joining the legal field, Madeline worked in curatorial and collections roles at several respected institutions, including the Virginia Museum of History and Culture and the Museum of English Rural Life in the UK. Her work required meticulous recordkeeping, thoughtful communication, and a deep respect for preserving details—skills that naturally transitioned to legal work.
Her interest in the law led her to begin working as a Real Estate Legal Assistant at Roth Jackson Gibbons Condlin, PLC, where she supported attorneys in zoning and land use cases. When she relocated to Lynchburg in 2024, she sought a firm where she could use her skills to make a tangible difference in people’s lives—and she found that mission-aligned fit at Osterbind Law.
Why Osterbind Law?
Madeline was drawn to Osterbind Law because of its client-first approach and high standards of service. From her first interaction with the team, she could sense that this was a firm where people genuinely cared—for their clients and for each other.
“Every team member I met seemed both committed to excellence and eager to help each other grow. I knew I wanted to be part of that kind of culture,” she says.
Role at Osterbind Law
As a Closing Specialist, Madeline plays a critical role in the final stage of every case. When a settlement is reached, it is her responsibility to ensure that every last detail is completed swiftly and accurately. Her work directly impacts the client’s final experience with the firm—making her role both highly detailed and deeply personal.
Her responsibilities include:
- Managing Liens and Reimbursements: Madeline handles lien resolution for Medicare, Medicaid (DMAS), and private health insurers. She confirms balances, opens CMS cases, and ensures compliance with all reimbursement requirements.
- Finalizing Settlement Documents: Within a week of settlement, she prepares all closing documents, including disbursement statements and releases. She coordinates with providers and lien holders to confirm amounts and collect signatures.
- Case Closure: She works to close each case within 30 days of settlement, updating the firm’s case management system, processing disbursements, and ensuring that nothing is overlooked.
- Client Communication: Madeline provides consistent updates to clients during this final stage, helping them understand the disbursement process, answering their questions, and guiding them through the final steps with care and professionalism.
- Deadline Management and Reporting: She tracks all closing tasks in MyCase, documents her work daily, and ensures that all assigned tasks are completed promptly and thoroughly.
Madeline’s work behind the scenes makes the conclusion of each case smooth and predictable—for both clients and attorneys. Her goal is simple: make sure no detail is missed, and no client is left in the dark.
What Motivates Her
Madeline is motivated by clarity, service, and excellence. She finds satisfaction in getting things right the first time, especially when it makes a stressful process easier for someone else. She understands that by the time a client’s case reaches her desk, they’ve likely been through months—or even years—of uncertainty. She wants the closing process to be the most confident and clear part of their experience.
“Being able to finish strong matters,” she says. “This is the last thing clients remember about their case. I want to make sure we end it with the same level of care and professionalism we started with.”
Core Strengths and Contributions
- Attention to Detail: Madeline is known for her meticulous documentation and precise coordination—especially critical when managing liens, balances, and legal paperwork.
- Communication: She’s calm, clear, and compassionate in her conversations with clients, providers, and teammates alike.
- Efficiency and Follow-Through: Once a case settles, she moves quickly and consistently to make sure no task is missed and no deadline is ignored.

Outside the Office

She has a deep appreciation for both nature and culture, and she brings the same thoughtfulness to her hobbies that she brings to her work. Whether she’s reading historical literature or organizing a case file, Madeline is always learning, always contributing, and always ready to serve.
