Laurel Smith is a Legal Assistant at Osterbind Law and works efficiently to aid attorney Hannah Bowie in many of the legal processes.
Born and raised in the chilly mountains of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Laurel decided the slow paced, western lifestyle was not right for her. Once moving to Lynchburg to attend Liberty University, she immediately knew that earning a degree in Law and Policy was the correct route for her interests. Although originally being intrigued by government, she found her passion within legal writing.
Laurel has honed her legal writing skills in Liberty University’s Helms School of Government, where she regularly prepared case briefs, memorandums, judicial opinion papers, and case law research in every class. Because of this, Laurel often assists in the post-litigation process and moving cases forward within the firm.
Laurel originally applied to work at Osterbind Law to use her work ethic and get involved with the legal process firsthand. She also hoped to gain more experience in the legal realm and learn more of the particulars as a legal assistant. Her ambitious demeanor and interpersonal skills aids Osterbind in earning successful cases.
Not only does Laurel possess the qualities to offer prized skills to improve the firm’s business, but she shares the value of loving and serving others who are often marginalized or discounted in some way.
Personally, Laurel enjoys spending her time outside of work creating; whether that be baking, sewing, writing, or designing, she loves expressing herself colorfully!
